in anything he's done. I wanted to watch King Richard, can't. And one of my favorite songs is "Brand New Funk" by he and DJ Jazzy Jeff.

Anyone else feel the same way?

Shalom
I won't even drive through West Philadelphia since the b!tch slap. 😏

Will Smith slapping Chris Rock does not bother me.

Chris Rock was making comments about Smith's wife. You can't continously make comments about people and their families without expecing some sort of reaction. Frankly, Rock had it coming.

The only disappointing thing was that it was a slap and not a punch. Smith should have punched him. And not just for the comment, but because Rock is not funny. That in and of itself is worthy of physical violence against him.

Nothing has changed about how often or not often I listen or watch Will Smith. The slap had no influence on me that way.

I doubt any district attorney of any political persuasion in the country would agree with the "he had it coming" defense.

It was one joke not continuous comments, not to mention that Will Smith went from laughing at the joke on camera to slapping Rock in less than twenty seconds.

Chris Rock is top-shelf funny

Will Smith and JPS are both public figures and Rock’s remarks at the time, while not funny, were essentially in the context of a roast.

Will Smith, unsurprisingly, is a narcissist and (over)reacted accordingly ... his *** should have been removed from the building by security

I'm the same way with celebrities spouting off their political beliefs as if they're not to be questioned and those that appear on Epstein's Island flight list.

I agree, just saw the video for the first time. Total overreaction both with the physical reaction and then the two verbal obscenities. The show should have gone to commercial and he should have been removed immediately.

Same here. From the outside he really seems to have allowed his wife to dominate their relationship and that doesn't appear to have been a very good decision.

No. There are performers who have shown poor character over an extended period of time (e.g. abuse of spouses or partners, frequent mistreatment of others, etc) that I have a hard time enjoying, but one incident doesn't put Smith on that list. He was wrong and he should have been tossed out immediately, but I'm not aware of this being a pattern of conduct.

Will Smith is a jerk plain and simple. He was a jerk before the slap. He tries to dominate everyone on any talk show on which he appears. I can’t stand the guy and will never watch him on anything.

Well, Smith is now worth multiple millions of dollars so I guess that worked out for him okay.

The thing about the slap is that Smith came off (to me at least) as a pompous, effeminate ***. I guess the attempt was to be a tough guy defending his woman’s honor, but he walked away from that looking much weaker. It was way too theatrical and soft.

That 20 second delay was due to the fact somebody had to explain the joke to him and tell him it was an insult.

You've made many comments about me.

And you're not the least bit funny.

Wasn't this the premise of The Fresh Prince of Bel Air?
Yeah, every 30 minutes or so, laka's friend would call @laKavosiey-st lion up and tell him about another Will Smith story ... like how he eventually moved to CA and hung out with his uncle Phil and cousin Carlton, and about how his cousin Hillary was really stuck up.

I was indifferent as a fan of his, but thought Will should have handled that situation offstage, hurt whatever positive image people had about him.

In the 60's or 70's i was watching a afternoon talk show Muhammed Ali and some other guests and one of the guests a stand up comic called Ali - "Cassius". Ali said "that's not my name " the comedian said it once or twice more when Ali said " I'll talk to you after the show" . That's how you handle business, don't know what happened but the comic probably pooped his pants a little.

It’s too bad because he was great in King Richard. Instead of his ‘official’ welcome to to the legitimate acting club he ruined it all with the slap. I was never a big fan but thought he was usually pretty good in everything. Rock’s restraint is Herculean and I can’t believe he hasn’t decided to respond properly. Jada is the issue though - she has warped Will and her bonkers kids into vessels of craziness.

Hitting pooky? I wonder what would have happened if he said it.
