I’ll be the first to dump on Fanatics, but this isn’t true. Nike is making the new MLB gear. Fanatics does press jerseys to sell to fans, and that’s all done to Nike and MLB specifications.

Supposedly manufactured by Fanatics. This article said designed and engineered by Nike - which in my mind just means Nike approved whatever Fanatics proposed.

Maybe not, but tell me this isn’t the Fanatics gear we all know: “Cubbie blue is its own blue, right?” Swanson said. “This blue on the uniform is a little bit different than Cubbie blue. So how can we just recapture that?”

I’m not saying fanatics isn’t culpable, but they are just a part of it. Nike, MLB and supposedly the MLBPA all signed off on it.
