Friday (8/16) was the birthday of the late, great, Eric Weissberg. He played a variety of folk instruments, but is most famous for playing the banjo in the song Dueling Banjos, which is well known from the movie, Deliverance. Friday (8/16) was the birthday of the late, great, Gary Loizzo. He was a singer and guitarist who achieved some fame with American Breed. Alas, he's most known for one of the more annoying rock songs of all time. To celebrate (or to drive you crazy):

Friday (8/16) is the birthday of Emily Strayer. She was born Emily Erwin, became Emily Robison after her 1st marriage, and became Emily Strayer after her 2nd marriage. She was a founding member, and the principle song writer, of the Dixie Chicks, which later became the Chicks. She was generally the banjo player in the group. To celebrate:

Thursday (8/15) was the birthday of song writer Jimmy Webb. He's most known for writing "MacArthur Park," "Wichita Lineman," "Up, Up and Away," "By the Time I Get to Phoenix," "Galveston," "Worst That Could Happen," and "All I Know." All of the aforementioned were big hits for other artists. To celebrate, him performing one of his hit songs:
