I don't particularly care for ESPN telecast of golf.I watched yesterday and it didn't feel like a major. The telecast lacked a lot as well. Some of that may have been because the leaderboard was not that interesting.
Shout out to George Cobb though. R.I.P.
Putting ball washers out of business.I'm glad PGA didn't allow lift, clean, place. Bunch of whiners, these guys are good enough to hit whatever shot is needed if mud is on the ball. I do understand it may not go where they intended it, but they should adjust to hit the next shot. These guys are world class for the most part. I'll be paying attention to see how many European guys make a fuss about it.
Of the four majors, the PGA Championship has always sort of been the "little brother". I think moving the date from August to May didn't help either. It is right on the heels of the Masters which is undoubtedly the premier tournament of the year. Being played at Quail Hollow is nice but it isn't any sort of legendary course so that is probably putting something of a damper on things.Very few fans. It's a major for Christ sake! I've googled it and nothing comes up other than the course was closed on Monday because of rain. Someone please enlighten me. Before the golf haters reply, did you see the crowds at the Masters?

The fact tickets are still available for all days and all levels tells me demand is not huge.
