Somehow when I hear anything about Elon Musk words like Teapot Dome and Crédit Mobilier pop into my mind. Maybe I'm too skeptical.

And the nations of Earth have bupkis in terms of governing claim. I do believe it will be the wild west but on a much grander scale for these billionaires. How can the UN or G8 tell people what to do in space?

Of course that's what you had to immediately say. When a government construction contractor builds something nice at the VA, do you immediately feel the need to say that builder didn't use his own money, or do simply recognize good work?
There are no government contractors like Space X/Elon Musk. None. People think he's a genius who actually builds these things himself, and with his own money (and he does neither). He's a vile turd.
Question... why do you think he is a vile turd? Curious people seem to be at both ends of the spectrum in their thoughts about him

Elon Musk is speaking out against government subsidies. Here's a list of the billions of dollars his businesses have received.
Musk's companies benefited from subsidies as recently as April, when SpaceX won a $2.89 billion contract from NASA. Tesla got subsidies for years.

None? Please describe why this particular government contractor is unique. I don't think people believe he's the one building things himself any more or less than they did Steve Jobs. Doesn't make the innovation of the companies they have the vision to create less impressive. Unless politics cloud everything you see, that is.
