Might as well start it, not that I’ll be contributing all that much.

Jess Pegula is playing right now, ESPN, looking good. She just won the first set, 6-2, so apparently ESPN is switching around, looking for excitement.

Always a favorite event for my parents as I was grieving up. I believe they both played a little tennis as youngsters.

I will probably catch the finals only.

Lot of American women matched up in 1st round. Pegula currently in close 3rd set with Davis. And Coco going against Kenin later today.

Side note: watching the intro on ESPN this morning it seems to me like Chris Evert doesn't really get along with Johnny Mac.

Federer returning to Centre court, this time as a spectator, along with his wife, parents and the princess Kate. Watching Shelby Rogers taking on Rybakina. Both big servers getting in the 110s. Go Shelby!

Lot of good matches coming up today especially at lunch time. Women have: Pegula v Busca, S. Steven v Vekic, and Collins vs Bencic.
American men Tiafoe, Fritz and Shelton also playing. Shelton is playing near noon time and has cannon for serve. Still waiting for Fritz to wake up and compete for a title.

Pegula plays well today to defeat Tsurenko and advance to her first Wimbledon quarterfinal. Go Jess! She's playing in the women's doubles as well with Coco, but has pulled out of the Mixed doubles with partner Austing Krajcek. They would have faced one of best ever double player, Nichola Mahut. Chris Eubanks is lighting it up for the American men (keep it up!) while Tiafoe is out in 3 sets again Dmitrov.

Pegula loses in the quarterfinals, as does Iga Swiatek, the women’s #1 seed.

Marketa Vondrousova of the Czech Rep. beats Jabouer in 2 sets to win the women's title. Pegula lost to Marketa in a 3 set nailbiter, so she has nothing to hang her head low in this tournament. Pegula and Jabouer have the lowest RPM ground strokes in the game and Marketa just seems to handle that with no problem.

Big lefty too. Was rooting for Jabouer since she lost last year, but not her time I guess.

Wonderful match - nearly 5 hours. Hope Alcaraz can keep it up; he’s relentless. Congrats to he and Djoker for a great match - rematch in New York would be amazing…
Only caught bits and pieces of the match but Alcaraz was making some incredible volleys. Djokovic was making threading the needle with his passing shots, but Alcaraz was still able to get to them. Way to bounce back after a 6-1 first set! I've got my tickets for US Open!

Djokovic is turrible.

Alcaraz is such a completely different player than Nadal or Federer. He can extend almost every point with his speed. But, that is a difficult way to play years at a time. He’s going to have to evolve a bit to increase longevity and win titles. Mochael
Chang was similar but he didn’t have as complete a game.
