Got the damn flu this week. Doctor prescribed Xofluza (FDA approved in 2019, now becoming more mainstream). One pill was $105 with insurance but in 24 hours I went from 103 temp and couldn't get out of bed to no temp and 90 percent. By the 36 hour mark I was at 100%.

Well worth it.

Worked good for me too as far as getting over it, but 2 weeks after coming down with it I’m still not 100%. Either a bad version of the flu this go around or I’m just getting old

Sounds like St Andrew's could benefit from this. They just canceled all classes Covid style.
Yeah, it's going around Madison. I couldn't get in with my PCP so I went to Trustcare and waited for three hours. They said 90 percent of what they are seeing locally is the flu.

It’s incredible. I don’t know how people dealt with the flu with just Tamiflu before

I tested negative for Covid and Flu but had the 2-3 week series of all the things.

Phase 1: Head and Stomach
Phase 2: Fake Recovery; some drankin’
Phase 3: Relapse into awful head/sinus/face pain with a side of lingering stomach; onset of chest
Phase 4: Maximum head pain and pneumonia symptoms; out of breath; fatigue
Phase 5: Chest congestion to max, neg for pneumonia; head much better; maximum fatigue; body is sh!!t.
Phase 6: Lingering of it all but mainly the fatigue into end of week 3. Lost 10 pounds, which I wanted to do anyway.

January was lost.

Saw the flu map on Twitter yesterday and there was a bullseye on central Mississippi.

y'all start taking Turmeric (1000 MG twice a day) and magnesium (400 MG once a day) every day and these random flu and cold virus' won't affect you so bad. I throw in a Centrum, too. I used to keep a cold (it seemed), and started those two supplements about a year ago and haven't been sick since. Wife is a high school teacher and she catches stuff at school all the time, and 8 and 4 year old kids bring home everything that goes around their schools, but I have been bulletproof since starting Turmeric and magnesium. Maybe coincidence. idk, but I know I used to get colds and the flu very easily, and I just don't seem to get anything now.

Xofluza is appreciably better. And kids down to 5 can take it. But most insurances don’t cover it worth a darn. And a lot of small pharmacies don’t carry it.

I thought I hated the flu the most until I got a stomach virus last Sunday that put me in the ER on Monday getting fluids. Felt like I had been shot with a tranquilizer dart.

Funny you say this. I had been battling the after affects of something with that lingering flem/mucus coming up every morning.

about 3 days ago I took turmeric and magnesium and did it 3 days in a row randomly. I feel better.

didn’t even think about feeling better until I read your post.

I take those and more regularly, but about 3 weeks ago it hit at work on a Monday. Started Mucinex-D and Nyquil. Got a shot and antibiotics Thursday. No fever so didn't test for strep, flu, or covid. It was still the following Wed before it turned around. Not 100% now but prob 90.

My wife had some kind of crud over Christmas and New Years. 3 doctor visits and a ruptured eardrum later she finally got better. Was down a good two weeks. I take vitamin D, fish oil, and zinc every day and it tried to get me. I had a little bit of chest congestion, but never felt bad.

Flu A hit my workplace on a Thursday. By Monday, I was the only one who didn't get it, still haven't. 18 people out on Monday, I was only one at work.

My right ear has been stopped up since October. Sinuses flare up once a day. It’s not wax related nor do I have fever but I havnt felt well in a long time. I’ve been dreading a blood test and praying it magically goes away but nothing I seem to do helps. No amount of sleep or vitamins has been able to cure whatever I’m battling. I take lexipro so I don’t worry, I just deal with it. Kinda scary

It is. We’ve used it on the kids a couple of times over the last few years. One day and they’re back at it.

My family attend and work at the same school. Flu had just been bad this year everywhere.

Friday, I noticed I was coughing and that I was coming down with something. I immediately started taking airborne (vitamin c) . Saturday, my throat was a little rough, but not as bad as it would’ve been. Mixed in a mucinex yesterday to get all that crap pushed out and today I’m 100% normal. Gonna keep taking the airborne every few hours just to be safe, but I haven’t been seriously ill with cold or flu in many years just by being aware and using inexpensive OTC meds. I do get my flu shots, but those are always hit or miss.

Natural Light does the same for me. I'll get a day of what my teenager or toddler brings home from school (including flu this Jan) while the 3 of them suffer for 10 days. To each his own though. Cheers!

I guess the carcinogens in my barely beer piss water fight it off.

My daughter came home with flu. Took Xofluza Wednesday and was better 24 hours later and like normal by Friday. Wife and I took it as a precaution and neither of us got it.
