Now that we are an officially recognized charitable non-profit, we would like to announce our first community service project we are seeking donations for. We want to supply every licensed daycare and nursing home with a Midland weather radio with SAME technology. These radios are programed with your location so that when a tornado or severe thunderstorm warning is issued for your county, it automatically turns on and broadcasts the warning. In these facilities it can take longer to get all of those under its care to the shelter location so they need as much lead time as possible. By providing them with these radios they will receive the warning as soon as its issued giving them as much time as possible to get those under its care to a safe place.

Children and the elderly are our most vulnerable citizens, and we want to do everything possible to keep them safe. We are hoping you will partner with us to help make that a reality. Remember, all of your donations are tax deductible. The spring severe weather season is rapidly approaching so please consider making a donation today.

If you own, work, or know somebody that works in a licensed child care or nursing home facility, and would like to receive a radio, please email us at [email protected] with your facility name, address, contact information, and contact person. We will place you on our list and as funds become available we will get your radio to you.

You can go to our website, hit the drop down menu and go or donate or text NMSC to 53555.

We at North Mississippi Storm Chasers thank you for your support.

Look into setting up an Amazon Affiliate Program with the radios you are wanting featured and when someone purchases one for you, you will not only receive the radio but a percentage back on their purchase cost from Amazon.

I think you should start with the daycares for sure... But if God sends a nador to the nursing home, you are just meddling in some business he's trying to square away.***

The shows how good a job you guys are doing at North Mississippi storm chasers. I never thought about the fact that daycare centers need a weather radio. I like that I can get text alerts when the weather threatens Mississippi or my family still lives. I know my family has their phones subscribed to it as well.

I hope this gets a good response from the public both from places wanting the radios and those willing to donate. We have some other things we are wanting to do, too, such as provide disaster relief supplies to areas after a tornado hits and the one started last year with the medical supplies. And of course there is our camera project that I am pushing hard to try and get off the ground. So lots of stuff we want to do to help before, during, and after severe weather. Now that we have our non-profit status we hope we can make a lot of this a reality.

We already have multiple requests for these radios. Enough to equal the funding we have had pledged so far. So if any of you would like to support this or know somebody that might, please let them know. We can currently accept donations by texting NMSC to 53555 or going to www.NMSCAS.org, hitting the drop down menu, and then selecting donate.

We are ordering our first 6 radios to fill requests today made by daycare. If you know of a daycare or nursing home that would like a radio please tell them to email us at [email protected].

And if you would like to make a tax deductible donation to support this outreach program and others that we will have such as medical supplies for chasers to have in their vehicles or to purchase disaster relief supplies for us to take to areas affected by tornadoes you can do so by texting NMSCAS to 53555 or going to www.nmscas.org and selecting donate from the drop down menu.
