Overanalyzing Newton--I think we are his choice as of now for this reason...

after Oklahoma and Auburn he said this same thing...something to the effect of :

"This is making my decison hard."

That implies that Oklahoma and Auburn were not his choices but that he had picked State and they were making it hard to keep that choice given how much he liked both of them.

I still think we get him and am convinced he is a program changer, but if we don't I look forward to seeing Russell....although we as s team won't be as good. It will still be fun.

in our record NEXT year. With Russell we may be a couple of years from a significant improvement. I just say that because as talented as Russell may be he has yet to take a snap beyond the HS level. Therefore, normally you would expect him to take a half a season or so to adjust to live game action in the SEC. So I'm thinking based on what Newton decides there could be a one year difference in when we have the best chance to make a major turnaround. In fact, given the growing pains most Fr. QBs have in this league, if we end up having to go with Russell and given the strength of our schedule again next year, we may again struggle getting to break even.
