Pat Washington says Terrance Davis will start out at QB.....

surprises me. I was thinking this guy would be one of our better receiver recruits. Either way, I'm glad we're going after these athlete-at-QB type guys, regardless of the position they may play.

And I guess that means we actually DID take a QB last class, for those of you that like to ***** about that.

Croom and Co. are going to try to use T. Davis similarly to how Auburn used Kodi Burns early on. This is just confirmation of what coach said earlier. Will it work? Who knows?

But at least there is a willingness to get a spread-type QB on the field for certain packages. My main concern is Davis' size - 5'-11", 185.

some things you just can't understand. Omarr Connor > Terrance Davis.

Because Croom, on that one day was possessed, like someone else I can think of, by a different offensive personality. He has since gone thru an exorcism.

but in the way he handles the offense he really is. That's why I don't think he's fired McCorvey, but he knows that the struggles have all been on his (Croom's) shoulders. And it's not just Connor, it's the fact that he had all that faith in Henig, who even a retarded monkey could tell that he sucked. He almost overruled McCorvey on Wes Carroll. ****, if Henig hadn't gotten hurt we'd have gone 3-9 last year too. Maybe he's learned a lesson.

If there's one thing we know about Croom, it's that he learns from his mistakes and is open to changing things that don't work.

he does change. He just does it at a snail's pace.

If our offense keeps moving the ball at a snail's pace, I give Croom 2 seasons until he's fired.

This should be Crooms best team that he has had, so I'm curious as to how he produces. And just because this kid is coming in at QB, doesnt mean he will be there by the time we suit up against La Tech...That could have been a selling point to get him here, and then they transition him to WR.

I just dont see Crooms putting a true freshmen out there to do anything at QB unless he absolutely has to (like last season). Not to mention, him doing much of anything spread-related. TR gets all excited about the 4 spread plays we ran in the Liberty Bowl, but dont hold your breathe.

he'd tell you he still believes in the WCO, but for whatever reason it doesn't work at MSU. It was easier for him to blame the offensive woes on a lack talent when they were mostly JWS's players. Now he can't do that. So he's more willing to try different things, even if he doesn't believe in them fully. In his mind, the spread is gimmick and will ultimately fall out of favor.

In a ideal world, Croom would've dumped McCorvey Tubberville-style and handed the offense over to someone with a track record of developing QB's.

Davis is not seasoned enough to play as frosh, however the mere fact he's even looked at tells me Croom is waking up to the fact that a running QB has some value in the SEC.

And given Croom's stubbornness, 4 spread-type plays is better than zero spread-type plays.

Whatever reason = Not being able to bring a pro-style QB to campus that weighs more than 160 lbs and/or displays any level of accuracy.

Tyler Russell may be Croom's WCO messiah.

EDIT: Oh and you're right. I'd add a lack of two SEC caliber WR's on the field at the same time.

Tyler Russell is going to be a pleasant surprise to some of you asshats. The guy has tons of upside.

I agree. I think he's the best QB we've signed in a long long time. But we're going to have to hire a decent QB coach if he's going to come anywhere near realizing that upside.

Time to see this year if his stubborness will be his undoing
