I think McFadden was one of those guys that was a 2-star because he'd not yet been evaluated. You know the ones that Gene's crew and Chuck's gaggle spend hours sweating because "I've seen him play and if he's a two-star running back, so is Bo Jackson". So while the ranking services weren't putting him in the top ten RB's at the beginning of his senior year, by signing day he was a national top ten running back.

In other words, it's a way for the Right Reverend to twist words around specifically for his point of view, showcasing his ability to evaluate talent and decrying the efforts of Rivals.
