the talk about him being in trouble with the law. But really its for class. That La.Tech game just got a little more imtimidating.

Croom said he violated State's academic policy as well as the SEC's by missing class 4 times unexcused. had nothing to do with anythign off campus that they said.

We're the only school in the country that can manage to get a guy suspended for missing class during week 1. They continue to amaze me.

Todd4state for tempering our excitement earlier today to better prepare us for the inevitable. In MSU fashion and like clockwork, a swift kick to the nuts before my season tickets even get here.

If there's one position we can lose a starter for one game, it's safety. We're actually deep there with Smith and Glanton.

This certainly isn't good news, but it could be much, much worse.

a potential first day NFL draft pick, you could wait until January to start skipping class...jeez. We've been told Pegues was one of the team leaders...handle your business, young man. There's a huge payday around the corner.

Losing a potential first round player because we have two so-so players behind him is ok with you? Because it sure as hell ain't ok with me. I like Glanton & Smith, but neither is in DP's league. And it's not just defense. This hurts the return game as well. Plus, we're expected to do something this year. Whenever we're expected to do something, pull out the body armor, cause it's gonna get ugly. We Are! MState!

can catch a punt without dropping it, hopefully -- Elliot, Bonner, and Mitchell come to mind.

aGain, losing an All-SEC player is never good, but it won't mean we'll be scrambling to find a replacement.

just pointed out that safety is one position on the field where we have worthy back-ups -- not All-SEC types, but experienced guys who have ability.

Sorry if my first reaction to bad news isn't search for the closest ledge to jump off, metaphorically speaking.

Classes don't start for another week. I don't know when he missed. But, it wasn't the first week of the fall semester.

Greetings from God's Country..... I have set up camp in the jewel. I guess I could go take pictures of the tron construction and post them tomorrow.

Edit: Is he just suspended for game 1? We are going to need him for SE LA.

but about the only good thing that could come out of this is finally getting to see him in the open field on some returns attempts

Well, on the bright side, you're not opening with an SEC game or even a tough OOC game. La. Tech is no Georgia Southern, but it's a game where you can afford to have a suspension or two.

...compliments BDJ. Join BDJ Premium if you haven't already. Pegues missed too many classes Spring Semester. Croom took his scholarship away, saying "I am not paying for something he isn't using," and sent him home to Batesville. He told him "don't come back until you have your head on straight." He "banned" him from campus and Starkville for the first summer session, and told him he had to "walk on" the second and earn his way back. Pegues got the message, but wasn't invited to the SEC Media Days and is suspended the first game. After the gun incident, Croom isn't taking any sh*t. De' Mond Glanton will probably start at LaTech.

.....wonderting where the arrests/suspensions were. I guess this situation is just class-related, but I sure hope it's the first and last we hear of player suspensions for whatever reason.

I'm glad he takes a stand and punishes players who don't follow rules. As for as being suspended for the LaTech game, so what, one player shouldn't make or break us.

I'll take De'Mon, he's a bad mother <17>er.

One of my all-time favorite jack-ups - De'Mon laying Jimmy Johns punk *** out.

Let me throw a little more sunshine on the topic, Michael Gates goes down with an undisclosed injury. Last report was he's going for x-rays. Out thin offensive line maybe just got a little thinner. Tobias Smith, welcome to 2 deep depth chart.

you'd think he'd at least know that he must show up for class. The worst thing any student can do is miss a lot of classes. With many classes showing up and doing a minimal amount of work will get the student a C.
