I know that the fact we have opened on the road in the BIG has been beat up many times, and the league says it is just computer scheduling. Most of us know that would be nearly impossible given the odds, but we do not know how it actually happens. I think the problem is accentuated with the idea now that the opening games are BIG games. That seems just crazy IMHO, and does not help the teams in the league in terms of success. For the best success, you want the opening game to be one that the chance of a loss is near zero no matter how bad you play. I think if we have 3 OOC games, only 1 should be close to a risk, and at least a couple would lead to us playing nearly the entire dressed team.
Listening to TFrank and Greg talk re and the Purdue game, they seemed to feel that PSU could not just blowup the idea of moving he game to Thursday. That move has a big impact favoring Purdue, who will be more of a threat than most think. Watch the Minny v tOSU game last year, and if the Minny RB does not get hurt, that game was going to be trouble for tOSU. As a night game in Minny, it was like a super bowl for them. The problem is that if you lose a game like this, it is potentially a season killer (i.e. Indiana 2020 and that fiasco). It can make the season for the underdog team. A day time Saturday game is totally different.
