Great free agent signings. Hopefully we have enough room under the salary cap to grab at least one more.

So dumb...

It used to be so much better when grown men were paid millions of dollars to coax 15, 16 and 17 year old boys to come play for them, and when those boys found out the candy in the van wasn't that great, we still had them locked up for 4 or 5 years of indentured servitude for our entertainment.

College scholarship athlete as victim is a laughable premise. Free ride, training, coaching, all the perks of being a college athlete. Yeah, total victims.

"Free" as in putting in 40 hours or so of work per week while you're supposed to be focusing on school. "Training and coaching" for what purpose? To have a 1-2% of making any money from said training/coaching after you graduate? But there's "perks"!

Meanwhile, now they're free to transfer to a new school and do what they did at that prior school, just like every other student that attends college. And that's a problem! Because of perks!

Transfer portal and NIL have certainly harmed the product for me.
I root for the school or as they say the name on the front, not the back.

Its hurting a lot student athletes as well. I read last year there was over 1000 in the portal and when the music stopped over 300 were left without anywhere to play. So, while it may help some it certainly hurts many as well.
