Back when I was there, hindelang only recruited from eastern PA. Nate bump was from towanda. Chris netwall and a couple others were Allentown guys. My issue with Joe was that he only gave the guys on the eastern half of the state and centre county a shot to play. A few of us western PA guys didn’t make the travel rosters because Joe stuck with guys from the Philly area where he was from. This is so true, this pissed me off for over a decade & half....
Scranton area, which has produced a ton of D1 and draftable talent the last decade or so. Probably more. And PSU frankly hasn’t even attempted to build an any sort of recruiting foundation here.
So, Carlo is spreading his 'seeds' around the northeast...with a little of his influence maybe we can make the College Base Ball series.
He was 291-366 at BC. I sure hope he does better at PSU.I dont follow ncaa baseball very much, but if you asked me how BC would do in the ACC I'd guess very poorly unless they had a dome to play in. Based upon him being 500 there I think he can do as well or better here at PSU.
Just tell me that his nickname is "Childish" and I'm all in.Gambino played for, and coached under, Pete Hughes (current K State HC and former HC at BC/VaTech/Oklahoma). I've known Pete well since he was a sophomore in high school (he's life long friends with my brother). Pete is super positive about Gambino and I believe him. Time will tell but this is a positive move for us and new AD should be congratulated.
