Traveling in Salerno, Italy. Very few, if any, Americans. I had a PSU shirt on. We see a guy with a PSU hat on while in Vietri Sul Mare. Hit them with a We Are and strike up a conversation. They are from Philly.

Hours later, we’re walking the streets of Salerno and see a guy with a PSU windshirt on. Another We Are. Turns out he’s from the Scranton area and he knows my brother and father.

Simply amazing.

Years ago I was in Austria and I ran into someone that I knew from Penn State.

We didn't do the We Are chant because outside of a game, I am not really a fan of it, but it was funny to run into someone from PSU so far away from home.

Bunch of Debbie downers here. Man!!!
90 percent of my non work attire is psu apparel. Heading there next year and yes I will bring psu clothes.
Same. Definitely over 50%. I have even used customink to make hoodies and tshirts. Expensive but fun.
Welp, that is a bit much.

Going to UK later this year and doubt I pack any Penn State attire. I have too many shirts, many of which I like wearing much more.

Support former athletes! This is for you! No PSU reference is up your alley.

For those interested, here’s my writeup of my trip. The primary purpose was to meet newly discovered cousins and visit the town/home of my Great Great Grandparents. We stayed in Salerno and made day trips to several sites around the area. Absolutely loved Salerno. Authentic and non-touristy.

When people come into the restaurant wearing psu attire I say we are. They are very happy to hear that in South Carolina and reply. Then I have them sign a psu alumni book. They are ecstatic.

I personally do not wear Penn State attire overseas. I have no desire to have someone yell very loudly, We Are, because I will ignore them if I am in a foreign country.

Yes…get off my f n lawn as well.
You should only respond if they give you the "We Are" in the native language of the country. In England, it would be, of course...
"We Bloody Are!!!...."

I wore Penn State shirts while in the San Francisco area on business last week. Got many “Go f*ck yourself!” and “A$$hole!” greetings throughout the trip. Passers by, colleagues, hotel reception, wait staff, baristas, etc. Good trip.

They are USC and UCLA graduates preparing to enter the Big Ten. They were just pre-gaming.
