If Levi can bump up two weight classes, Carter should be able to........one would think.

I really don't think he's going 97. 84 looks like the winner unless he decides to go all the way up just to face Ferrari. Which seems unlikely.

I would think it will be Kazak at 57/Mesenbrink at 65…

…? whether RS Fr Barr(up a weight for a season) or True Fr Mirasola at 97.

I can't see Facundo coming back to the team and sitting on the bench. Kasak still has a RS available and Facundo certified at 165lbs I believe. I think Facundo is in the lineup this year at either 157lbs or 165lbs.

That would make sense, RE sentence one. On the second one, going to be a great wrestle off between Barr, Mirasola, and Cochran at 97.
Like many fans, I tend to forget about our solid veteran backups like Cochran….you never know who might have an Ant the Champ season!

I don’t like to think of AF as odd man out either… but hard to picture him at 57… perhaps he can go 65, MM 57, and TK RS.

The problem, at least in my mind, is that Penn State ahs been very fortunate to get guys who are willing to redshirt but I'm not sure it's sustainable. Thus, they're going to have to wrestle it off in all likelihood and let the best guy wrestle. Which, of course, will leave a high-level starter on the bench in all likelihood.

Facundo ain't making 157. If anyone can make the cut it is mesenbrink, which I don't see happening.

Willie Saylor wrote this morning that he's heard Facundo may have certified at 157. I wouldn't rule it out. But, I never rule anything out when it comes to Penn State wrestling possibilities. Them knowing the plan and no one else knowing it is a point of pride and it's worked pretty well for them.

A lot will be decided when Haines wrestles Welsh.
It's an all star bout. It might provide a couple clues about Haines (though we already know he looked pretty good at 79 kg (174 lb) at the recent Senior World Team Trials (freestyle)), but doubt it decides anything that isn't already determined.

The Mendez - Bartlett match will be interesting.

They met 3 times last season. Bartlett won 4-1, SV-1 in the dual match. Mendez won 4-1 in the B1G Championships. And then Mendez won 4-1 at NCAAs in the championship match.

They are the two top wrestlers @ 141 returning from last season. Andrew Alirez, who redshirted last season, but won the 2023 NCAA championship @ 141, is also returning.

Kerk - Nick Feldman @ 285 will also be interesting to me.

The met 3 times last season. Kerk won 12-0 in the PSU - tOSU dual. Kerk won 9-3 in the B1G Tournament. Lastly, Kerk won 1-0 in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Championships.
