Will probably never play here. I guess you’d rather get him than not, but not getting hopes up about him. Hope like hell I’m wrong though!! Big time player.
Encouraged by improvements on pitching staff thus far with more possible from portal. Looking for Coach Williams to have a better staff development plan and better preparation than last year.
South Carolina has now claimed two conference pitchers of the years from the NCAA Transfer Portal. Right-handed pitcher Matt Duffy, who won Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year in 2023, has made his verbal pledge to the Gamecocks.
In addition to Duffy, the Gamecocks, under first-year pitching coach Matt Williams, also have pitcher commitments from Virginia Tech right-hander Tyler Dean, Liberty lefty Garrett Gainey and right-handed pitcher Ty Good out of the College of Charleston, who earned CAA Pitcher of the Year honors in 2023.

Agree. At least Williams is not sticking with the status quo and has brought in some pitchers with some potential to develop.
I am old enough to remember when Wade Boggs committed to us. Wishing Morlando an equally excellent pro career and I think his impact on the Gamecocks will be the same as Boggs’
Petry was very high MLB draft material but chose to play for SC.

I've heard some folks talk about him and say that it's not out of question that he will actually come here. I can't see it, but some aren't ruling it out.
Morlando is going to be in the Home Run Derby tonight...check him out. At the very least, it will be mentioned at least once that he's committed to USC....so we'll get some good pub out of it.

Don’t think it’s happened yet. They’re doing the HS finals tonight at some point.
