"A Patented 28 yard kick by McAdams. He's had his share of those."

That's just great radio. I was fortunate (geeky) enough to be at that game with headphones on and just lost it laughing when he said that. Everybody around was understandably stressed considering what was going on with the game. I got some funny looks then.

Any of the eight "wrap it" calls would do nicely.

First one that came to my mind, only didn't Jack use the word shank instead of kick?

I liked the call of the AJ's int to seal the UK game.
Pegues INT vs AU a close second.

I based it on his description of the play and his tone.

I'm paraphrasing a bit.

"Mcadams will punt it and the ball rolls to the 3 to the 2 to the 1 and downed by Mississippi State on the 1....You know Jim that is the only thing that MSU has executed in this game all day is a punt downed on the 1 yard line. Now lets sit back and watch the Mountaineers break one for 99 yards."

I was driving down the road when I heard it and almost wrecked because I was laughing so hard.

his gameplan against WV was AWFUL. It was Cooper-esque. I'm not a football expert, but it looked like we were playing staright up zone coverage against a spread option team, with a 3-3-5 defense, which meant we were rushing three guys in the first quarter. It looked like we went back to a 4-3 and we did pretty well against them from the second quarter on defensively.

Yeah, we got a bad break at the beginning of the game, but I also think that we allowed them to dictate what we were doing on defense too much.

In hindsight, it probably helped us when the Egg Bowl came around, because no one runs that offense better than WV and Appalachain State, and I really think O installed that offense in part because he thought that we would struggle with it.

My recollection of Ole Miss' offense that day was that they ran the spread option just fine...and then quit running it. I don't distinctly remember that particular style of offense being stopped. UM seemed to just quit running it late in the game when Ed worked his coaching magic. Now, to say that it was ever succesful the way it was for WV is NOT what I'm saying. It's not like Schaeffer and 4 letter were ripping off huge chunks of yardage...but they were running a relatively succesful offense.

in part because I think they panicked when we started to get some momentum. They did move the ball some, but we held them to 14 points. I do think that if they kept trying to run it, we still would have stopped them.
