Pick'Em Results for Week 10

@gbpsu95 navigated all the upsets to win the weekly competition, with 25 points.

In the season-long competition, @BW Lion (up 1) and Yours Truly (same) are tied for 1st, with 223 points. With 4 more weeks left in the season-long competition, the race is still really tight to see who wins the competition.

In the real competition, @twak bested me 22 points to 20 points. In the season-long competition, I'm ahead of @twak, 223 points to 220 points.

The Week 11 slate has been posted. There are no Friday night games on the slate. As such, all entries for the Saturday noon games, and the 2nd tiebreaker, must be entered by 11:55 am EST on Saturday.

you never know. I felt the Week 10 slate was one of the easier ones of the season to pick, and yet my win % was lower than normal. The other wild card is that there are 4 weeks left in the competition. I'm pretty sure that the Week 14 slate will be a small one, due to the regular season being over for most teams. There was one year in the past decade where I ended up losing the season-long competition due to the small slate in the final week, which meant that most of the contestants ended up having one of their dropped weeks (before that week) becoming a part of their score. (Looking at the current dropped points, I am in pretty good shape, though @DP5 currently has the topped dropped score.)

The other thing is that there are still a lot of contestants within 4 points of the leading scores (yours & mine). A couple of so-so weeks of picks by me (and you), with some high picks by @Faraway1, @NittanyPirate, @Lionville, etc. and they could overtake either of us.

A funny side anecdote. A few weeks ago I googled CFB predictions and stumbled upon a website that offered free predictions, complete with some weird explanations, for almost every meaningful CFB game being played that weekend.

I ignored their goofy advice, but had I done so I would currently be up 4 games on you with you being up 4 on me on dropped points.

The website hasn’t been as soothsaying during the past few weeks and had I followed their advice I would be in the exact same position entering this weekend.

That’s what makes this contest so entertaining.
