Pittsburgh playing like the Panthers rather than the Steelers

I hate when refs dictate the pace of games. That's really hard to watch. 49ers are definitely the better team right now.

In this NFL you can't win big games with a mediocre QB. Pickett is mediocre at best, a total stiff most of the time. He has limited talent and will never be the elite QB needed to win big games. Pickett fattens up his stats against cupcakes. He did that at pitt and now in the NFL. Two years from now when Tomlin comes to his senses, Pickett will be a backup QB in the XFL.

Impossible, Pickett played in college football’s most sophisticated offensive system.

Playing like the Panthers? I think they are playing exactly like we expect the Steelers to play.

Not a Steelers fan....but to blame that Loss on Pickett is absurd. From the first play of the game the Steelers got dominated in the trenches on both sides of the ball.

I don’t totally disagree. The new look OL did not live up to the billing. It was being talked about as a much better OL, but that didn’t prove to be the case today against Bosa, Hargrove, and the rest of a very good 49er DL. However, Pickett was not at his best. He was off all day. The first interception was behind Johnson and high. He nearly had a pick 6 to Warner that he threw late and he had a sure TD to Johnson go for an incompletion because he threw low and behind him. He sailed other balls high too and seemed to wait too long to pull the trigger on a few passes. He looked so crisp in the preseason, but not today. Hopefully, he was just having an off day.

I'm not sure Tomlin gets 2 more years.

Tomlin will coach as long as he wants regardless of record. The Steelers could be 0 - 17 for ten seasons in a row and the Rooneys won't fire him.
His contract runs out after the 2024 season. If he doesn't take the team to the playoffs the next 2 years, I think you'll see them move on.

That may be true, but nothing will make his hands bigger.

It's unbelievable how lucky brady was over so many years. Even with all the protection.
They literally changed rules for that schmuck. Nobody could get near his legs or it was a flag. Nobody could get near his head. Tuck rule, etc. The NFL needed to be sponsored by Chapstick for all the *** kissing they did for Brady.

I know, but even with all of that, it's still a miracle that the guy only missed one season. At least the Steelers took advantage, but I will always believe his career may have ended much sooner if he ever had to face the 2008 Steelers defense.

Sigh. What a pile of crap we've had for the last decade and probably another one on the way. ****.

If they lose to the browns this weekend, the little sliver of goodwill they've eked out recently will evaporate with me.
