In first series of Iowa gam PJ was injured - appeared to be a knee injury of some type.

PJ was shown on crutches at UMich and Rutgers games (5-6 weeks after injury). Did he have surgery and recovering? I assume if he had an ACL he would already have done surgery so can start recovering. If he had something like meniscus tear that might be a scope, but you would not expect crutches at this point. An MCL strain/tear may have a surgery or not, and might still be on crutches. JF announced that PJ was out for the season very fast, so I assumed it might have been ACL.

I have personally had all these injuries, and needed surgery, and was under the knife inside of a week after the injury. I was on crutches for about 2 mos after ACL surgery (and that was old fashioned surgery).

any idea what his status is? he appears to have an option to play a 5th year due to NCAA free year in 2020. If he leaves it would not appear he will be able to go through any NFL evaluations other than medical. he might get drafted based on early 2021 season, but he did not have a good 2020 to show behind it. If he takes the 5th year of playing, he would need to be on an accelerated recovery process. If he is injured, and plans later surgery, that seems like a big problem for him.

If Mustipher decides to turn pro his excellent play before he got hurt will be sufficient for the NFL evaluators. Micah didn’t play at all last year.

1) Micah is a freak and
2) Micah was not coming off of major injury

The situations are in no way comparable. I love what PJ was doing prior to injury but I wouldn't want to draft him except perhaps as a flyer very late if I were an NFL GM. I think confirmation of return to full health and no dropoff on the field, even if it is late in the 22 season would be enough for him to go several round higher. Just my thoughts.
