She’s an amazing and talented young woman, despite being a recent Rutgers grad (please don’t hold that against her). See links below for wherever you listen to music.

Also, having just graduated, she’s looking for a job in the music industry or a job where she can still pursue music at the same time. If you have any job leads, I’d be eternally gratefu!

IT'S OUT!!! My album 'Situational Comedy' is out wherever you listen to music!

This album has been a year and a half in the making, and was completed as my Senior Capstone Project for the Honors College at Rutgers University. HUGE THANKS to my advisers, Alex Dawson, and Professor Klein who was with me in the studio for hours every day recording, mixing, and mastering. I could not have done this all without him, and without the talents of the student musicians that played on the tracks!

Drums: Sophie McNeal & Jilly Matje
Bass: Steven Franklin
Guitar: Aaron Vaders-Collins
Keys: Kyle Cao
Horns: Joe Marta
Backup Vox: Zoë Gold

And more thanks to Zoë for being the official photographer/videographer, taking shots & videos of recording sessions and shooting photos for the cover art (which I created!).

This is really really strong... love her voice, kind of a 90s mainstream rock feel to it. She's very talented. My daughter is in the music business program at NYU... the whole business is so difficult to break into. Thanks for sharing...
Thanks for the kind words. She is a great person, very bright and passionate about her music. I really hope she gets some sort of outlet, even if it’s coffee shops.

Good luck to your daughter too.

Good for her GSP, and yeah the music industry is difficult and unforgiving but can be highly rewarding. She has a great sound. All the best to her for pursuing a dream.

Our oldest has a Masters degrees from the Mason Gross School of Music at Rutgers. He has played with some of the biggest names in Jazz today from New York to the West Coast. He currently also holds it down in a great little Jam Band comprised of jazz musicians in Portland Oregon and they have played some 2000 seat theaters this year.

He has figured out how to mix fun with pleasure and work. Last week on tour down in California at a couple of festivals he hauled his white water raft, hooked up with a friend who has a couple of rafts as well and had the band out for some white water rafting on their day off. He routinely gets in a half day or day of snow boarding when touring in the winter.

The band is Reb and the Good News and they are opening for Parliment Funkadelic later this month among other bands. Here is a taste ( everyone in the band is in their early 30s and have jazz careers playing, recording and teaching as well. The Sax player is also in the California Honeydrops, a Jam Band that played Red Rocks this spring )

Support local music. Support original music. Support jazz , support indie music. Support Chefs. Support orchestras in your town, Support art.

You continue to evolve in directions that are fascinating. Isn’t there a big festive in Asbury Park this summer for your team?

Let me just say something about what you are saying. You are discussing a snapshot in this young artists life and career. she put a lot of time into the project, had a lot of help and didn’t incur many of the costs ( I surmise ) associated with releasing an album. It’s a tough grind and she did it. You may find out 20 years from now as she evolves and you do as well that you love her stuff. Time will tell.

Keep on rocking The Rick.

Are you really trying to promote her “album”? You might be doing more damage in the process.

No disrespect intended but your niece sounds as nothing other than an untalented as a mash of:

1) Taylor Swift
2) Avril Lavigne
3) any of the many people other angry, mis-talented youth trying to achieve “recording notoriety”

Oh, now you're music critic as well? Simon Cowell did your shtick years ago. Stick to drunk posting. It fits you well.

For those that have listened to he music, thank you. For those that have provided commentary relative to people you care about trying to make a similar life in some part of the music industry, thank you very much.

I really don’t get the proactive negative responses, however. This is like pointing out flaws in a walk on football player. Couldnt you have listened and then just remained silent if it wasn’t your cup of tea. I don’t expect everyone to like it, and i never said she was the next big star. My goals were to help her get more clicks, or streams, or downloads, or whatever metric is used to gauge popularity. That said, I realize that having a dozen people from this board listen to her music won’t make a difference.

Personally I enjoyed Break Ur Heart the most. I recognize I am not her target audience and nobody here really is but it’s a fun song. I can certainly see throwing it on my “ Deck “ mix for all the Deck parties we have all summer and fall. It’s well crafted pop and it’s fun. Some of my friends will love it.

IDK about all of that, to me she sounds like a young
1) Grace Slick
2) Edie Brickel
3) or Julie Adams from the Fabulous Twister Sisters who had a pretty good 10 year run on Mountain Stage...you should listen to it sometime....

I like Wanna Be Friends the best. I like the chorus and the melody is catchy. I’m not a music critic and don’t know much about the technical parts of songs/music.

Actually, he didn't ask for opinions. He asked people to listen, probably to promote the music which can get more air time if it gets more listens.
IMO, anyone who can create original music, record it, and then put it out for public consumption deserves a lot of credit.

@Got GSPs Is this niece on the wife's side?

Gave it a listen. Nice sound but not my thing. Felt like Rutgers had produced a lot of musical acts, so I looked it up. Steely Dan, Through The Looking Glass and a member of My Chemical Romance came up. What I also saw amongst the list of notable RU Alumni was none other than Louis Freeh. Makes sense.

So I’ll ask gsp, you want opinions or not? What’s your fav tune GG ? Did you listen to it?
im also curious to know how much her student debt is after 4 years + a music masters? Graduating with no job (music major) and a big nut is surely gonna cost me some money. (My fav is Encore)

Yo bro just cause you can play a few instruments and know a little theory doesn’t give you permission to mock USAs greatest punk band. You’d rather go to a Rutgers coffee house on a Tuesday am and catch the niece than be here, well that’s on you. Don’t forget the cloves cigs and political pamphlets “I identify as a cat” lol

I NEED to be sedated to listen to their monotone, droning, 3-chord slop. I was going to compare it to nursery rhymes, but even they have more interesting melodies. I'd rather watch a street busker playing a plastic bucket drum kit (at least there will probably be a drum fill). Hell, this guy has 100 times more talent on vocals, drums, and guitar than Joey, Johnny, and Tommy and he does it all at the same time.
PS. You shouldn't smoke, it's bad for your health.

So the bashers have more to focus on I thought I would post a link to my nephews song. He did this 9 years ago. He did the vocals drums and bass. The guitarist made it on a well regarded metal band.

I hope you don’t mind GPS

Why not? I have a nephew who has a pretty good chance, I am lead to believe, to make the Olympics, in Archery. It’s natural to want to brag about them.

There’s no nicer story than that of a kid living their dream. Timothy Healy, SJ, while he was president of Georgetown University: “Don’t be afraid to dream.”

The entire album is on Spotify for free. It’s Strangest Life, with the cover the Montezuma Drive street sign. My favorite is EAC. He and I wrote Creepy Song, our tribute to Excitable Boy by Warren Zevon. I get emotional listening to the last 30 seconds of Chelsea’s Graduation.
