Am I the only one watching Georgia in the CWS with a fear that Polk will make a guest appearance in the ESPN booth? He was in Athens for the Super Regional; surely he's in Omaha as well. The only thing that might prevent it is that he probably had to buy a ticket; there's no way the NCAA would give him credentials.

From what I have heard through the grapevine, Polk goes to the CWS pretty often, if not every year, or at the very least, he is well known in Omaha.

If he does a cameo in the TV booth, I wouldn't be worried. Based on every other non-MSU news source I've seen, they all think that Polk is wrong on our HC issue, and should stop whining. Plus, it seems like he is starting to back off anyway. If ESPN sensationalizes it, so what? It didn't hurt USM when they kicked Bower to the street, who by the way still doesn't have a job as far as I know. Cohen is a done deal, and I would gladly trade one hour of BS for a real coach any day.

...is if Ron Polk starts going off on Greg Byrne the same way he goes off on the NCAA. If other bigger, higher profile NCAA schools see this, they might start looking at Byrne as their next Athletic Director and he might get snatched from us sooner than we want.

bastard. I thought it might be last night also. ESPN and the other media there will find him at some time because even before his Cohen/Raffo meltdown he was about the only controversial figure in a sport that at the college level has very few colorful "characters" to interview.

I think he goes every year, and never misses it. Maybe he's finally to ashamed to go.
