anything back he said about Byrne, and he has no desire to speak with him ever. He also says he sees no way that he will ever be able to work with Byrne in any capacity, at any level.

Well ****, there goes the good will he built up....he did say he drove Cohen down to pick up his new dealer car, and spoke to the MHSAA baseball coaches clinic.

If he isn't willing to admit that he was wrong, I say good riddance and go hang out with your family in Arizona.</p>

this stop? Ron, just go away. Its over, we know you don't like GB. Why dose he insist on rehashing this every chance he gets? How can you be buddy buddy with Cohen and turn around and bash the AD because he hired Cohen? Is that not hypocritical?

He lost every bit of any remaining goodwill he hadn't already destroyed in his last 7 years here the day Cohen was hired. And he hasn't done a damn thing since then to rebuild it, despite what many posters on this board may have imagined. Accept the 17ing facts people! Ron Polk is no friend to Mississippi State University.

people who have forgiven him since he's buddied back up with Cohen. And the guy co-hosting the radio show today just said it best: "Polk is 65 going on 4...he's acting like a small child..."

I was hoping Polk was going to smooth all this over. I guess not. I am glad he and Cohen apparently have "buried the hatchet", though.

He must have really taken it personally about Byrne. Too bad. We used to have an AD that at least one current coach did not get along with. I guess it's better to just have one ex-coach not get along with the AD than one still on the payroll.

Let him get nowhere near our program. The things he said about Byrne in the beginning were bad enough but the fact that he hasn't backed off and is still making these kinds of statements is reason enough to say stay away. Seriously, you can't be for MSU and for John Cohen and publicly bash the AD that hired him and who also happens to have a high approval rating at the moment.

argument out of the water from yesterday. It particularly disproves the "media won't talk to him" argument that someone put forth. As long as he says this ********, they'll talk to him. He's controversial. He sells papers and gets people to tune in to radio stations.

No good can come out of him being around. It could if he was a different person, but he's not. He can't keep his mouth shut, and he can't keep from saying things that he shouldn't say.

Screw him.

Buy/Sell: Polk kept quiet the last month or so and buddied up to Cohen just so that he could then speak his mind later about Byrne and try to put a wedge between Cohen and Byrne.

I am buying. Cohen is in a bad situation. His boss is being blasted by his "father figure" former coach who has clearly shown he intends to hang around the program. Now Cohen has a choice to make. 1) Speak out against Polk and possibly piss him off and have more bad press; 2) Say nothing and have the bashers who wanted Raffo to speak out against Polk start calling Cohen a ***** (if they aren't hypocrits) or 3) take the easiest route and discuss it privately with Byrne at which point Byrne may ask him to do either number 1 or number 2 above.

Polk just needs to get out of town. Cohen and Byrne have important jobs to do and this little bastard is just a distraction.
