Apparently being discussed. Don't know any details, but would involve cross-conference games and possibly an inter-conference championship game at the end of the season.
Would that be the "left overs" from each conference?Apparently being discussed. Don't know any details, but would involve cross-conference games and possibly an inter-conference championship game at the end of the season.
Man, there really trying hard. To survive.
Unless the ACC disintegrates, seems to me that leaving the ACC for the SEC is cost prohibitive.I guess maybe it's a move by ESPN. If they can get the SEC superconference and a Pac-12/ACC superconference, it may be enough TV revenue to offset the Big10. Seems like some ACC schools would still move to SEC (Clemson, FSU, Miami, etc). All subject to change I'm sure.

Ouch!! Guessing that does not include adding UND for football?ACC is desperate. It’s my understanding they can’t officially add another team without causing the TV contract to have to be reworked/renegotiated. If that happened it would cancel the current GOR and then schools could leave without penalty. So they are essentially stuck with having to do another stupid “alliance” thing. Bunch of freaking morons.
They can afford to wait. They are probably the only school that is assured of a cushy landing spot.Desperate. Two walking dead conferences. Hope the ACC fails. Looks like ND is taking its time about joining the B10.
negotiating what?Fwiw, Walt had a guest on today (clemson website guy) who was saying that they heard clemson/fsu/unc/uva has moved from speculation to negotiation stage.
Again, fwiw.
negotiating what?
They need to negotiate their way out of the GOR first. My fault, I see I worded that poorly.
It was about joining the sec.

From what I've read it requires a 75% vote of the members to be released. Not sure if enough can jump to the SEC and/or the B1G to reach that. That is pretty much THE hurdle at this point. And I've heard talk of teams weaseling out if it if enough leave at once. I admit to having no clue the chances of that.
My guess is Notre Dame is holding out for a sweetheart deal from the ACC to become a full member of that conference. I don't believe the ACC has a lot of options. Notre Dame knows that. Thus, I think they are using their leverage to get a lot more than an equal share of conference revenue. And I mean A LOT MORE. If I'm right, there will be a lot of whining coming out of the upstate and Tallahassee. But I don't believe those two would have much choice. I have always liked Florida State, an excellent school, very nice campus, in a wonderful city. For that crowd in the upstate, it would serve them right......cry a river. They can afford to wait. Could be. Wonder if then would the B1G drop Notre Dame as an associate member. My guess is Notre Dame is holding out for a sweetheart deal from the ACC to become a full member of that conference. If it happens, could see UVA, UNC, GaTech, Duke and UND heading to the B1G and FSU, Miami, VaTech, NCSU, and Clemson heading to the SEC.....and that still isn't enough schools to satisfy the 75 percent.

Notre Dame is an associate member for ice hockey. John's Hopkins is also an associate member for lacrosse. It's not a huge deal, but it does give Notre Dame a conference to compete in ice hockey.I must have misread this. If ND joins the acc, the b10 wouldn't drop them as an associate member, because they aren't one now, and wouldn't be if they joined the acc full time.
