Bought my son a PS3 for Christmas.... Sweet. I am wondering what games are good ones out there. Sports or action specifically, regardless of rating.

Modern Warfare 2. Call of Duty...World at War. You can't go wrong with either. I have an xbox and like both of these.

Got my son, 12 y/o Call of Duty - Modern Warfare 2 and he loves it. All his friends have it. Depending on his age, you should be aware that when playing any games online, the language used by many gamers can be pretty crude.</p>

MLB The Show is a must-have for a baseball fan. NCAA football is the choice for football and NBA2K10 is the way to go for hoops. Also, Tiger Woods golf is always a good choice.

I don't play the other games but I'm sure everybody is right on target.

Since I did not have an xbox or ps3 prior to this I decided to stay a year or so behind the curve. This way I have picked up Uncharted: Drakes Fortune(great game), MLB 09 the show (Like Road To The Show), Bioshock, Riddick, Assassin's Creed (Haven't really played the last 3 much yet) all for $20 to $25. I just got Mortal combat Vs DC Universe and the God of War Collection for christmas. By the time I get through these I can get the ones released this year when those go down.

Now if he has to have the latest or wants to play these new games online with friends, then that might not work. But you can still mix in some older titles to stretch out the bucks a little.

This post is the correct answer. MLB The Show is the most realistic sports game on the market today. The NBA 2K series has always been great.

Call of duty is a good game but online battlefield is much better but its geared more torwards adults. Its hard and actually requires some strategy instead of just running around shooting people. Get him call of duty and get you battlefield bad company 2 when it comes out in March
