As long as it doesn't take away games from national networks (CBS, ESPN, ESPN2) and the Saturday morning JP (or whatever they are now) games - which is where I get to see most State games - I'm fine with it. Might not make a difference for football as much, but could be great for basketball.

I would watch the Big Ten flush out their problems and learn from there mistakes. I think it's going to happen but not until the next time the SEC renegotiates its TV contract. I read in the SportsBusiness Journal that FOX and CBS is throwing tons of money at them for rights. CBS will probably land it but they want to capitalize on interest and show more double headers (whether noon and 3:15 or 2:30 and primetime). Whatever happens, Raycom is **** outta luck.

...other bizzare stuff like O'Neal Wilder winning a national championship in the 400m.

It is in our interests to make sure our better football teams stay on nationwide broadcasts.

Exactly, things should be rolling as soon as the next contract renewal comes around. its not an if, its a when..this thing is going to happen, too much more money can be made and greater exposure.

Big 10 has it going, Comcast recently came to terms with them and it will be on the digital tier for 7 of the 8 states with a team (iowa doesnt have comcast).

Big Money will be a comin, in additon to the big 10 making their network they signed a 10 year/1 billion contract with espn/abc. Im not sure when the contract re-ups with CBS but with the recent national sucess in football and basketball expect a big increase.

replays of old football games since ESPN Classic has become the Muhammad Ali channel. I guess they would also show games of SEC teams vs. I-AA teams.

the baseball coverage alone would make it worth me paying for the service on my cable network. prior to post season play espn acts like college baseball is equivalent to watching people club baby seals.

Please dont let FOX get the SEC TV package. Thom Brennahman and Charles Davis will ruin SEC telecasts.
