This happened at another station about 45 miles or so from where I work.
I also took the test in St. Louis. I was 22 and already had 2 children. I REALLY needed that job. They said that I scored too high. Had the highest score one could have without additional points for being a veteran. Think I remember that every time I have to go to the post office and stand across the counter from those people?I could have been a postal carrier but when they finally notified me I was more comfortable in my job. That Post Office Test was very hard as my wife warned me but I was stubborn and didn't really study for it.
Always gift $ your postal carrier at Christmas. Same to garbage, recycle and debris pickup guys. They are very appreciative.
I don't.Mail carriers are easy. How do you give to the garbage men when they don't get out of the truck, and have the automatic arm going?
Mine get out of the truck. No automatic arm only a lift gate. They ride on the back of that truck all day in heat, rain and cold. GeeezMail carriers are easy. How do you give to the garbage men when they don't get out of the truck, and have the automatic arm going?
Really impressive. I barely passed it. I'm really glad I didn't become a postal carrier as I am afraid of dogs and they would have sensed that and would have looked forward to scaring me every day. I am a veteran, too.I also took the test in St. Louis. I was 22 and already had 2 children. I REALLY needed that job. They said that I scored too high. I can only imagine that they thought high scorers would be bored and go "postal" but I would have placed high scorers on management track. At the time I really needed that job and tried hard on the test. If I had known I could have easily missed a few. But it's all good now. I ended up with a rewarding career in engineering.Really impressive. I barely passed it. Scored too high. Reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where Jerry took over Newman's route and made like 80 percent of his deliveries. Newman said nobody's ever made 80 percent. Jerry even delivered on Sunday!I also took the test in St. Louis. I was 22 and already had 2 children. I REALLY needed that job. They said that I scored too high. The federal government seems to prefer mindless drones.Scored too high. Reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where Jerry took over Newman's route and made like 80 percent of his deliveries. Newman said nobody's ever made 80 percent. Jerry even delivered on Sunday!![]()
Tip only if they have done a good job…my postal carrier is getting worse and worse.Always gift $ your postal carrier at Christmas. Same to garbage, recycle and debris pickup guys. They are very appreciative.
That’s what they get for attending Clemson.Mine get out of the truck. No automatic arm only a lift gate. They ride on the back of that truck all day in heat, rain and cold. Geeez
I worked 40 years for the DoD as a civilian engineer for the Air Force. I can attest there are many unqualified and lazy federal employees. Management is mostly unwilling to put forth the effort required to punish or fire someone. Ten percent of the workforce does 90 percent of the work. The federal government seems to prefer mindless drones.
I remember when the military was the only thing the federal government did right. Now, not so much.I worked 40 years for the DoD as a civilian engineer for the Air Force.
