sitting over in Tuscaloosa right now. The latest rumor is that the post-arrest search of Johns' apartment yielded some interesting information involving other players. And, supposedly, Johns' little Pitbull website, replete with photos of him at spring practice and references to the UA football team, may constitute an NCAA violation. Again, I'm confident that they will skate with the NCAA, but just the thought of the NCAA snooping around in the middle of Johns' coke dealing arrest and dismissal is curiously satisfying.

Sho hate it.

It's a clear violation of NCAA rules....

NCAA Bylaw 12.5.2.1

- A student-athlete may establish his or her own business, provided
the student-athlete's name, photograph, appearance or athletics
reputation are not used to promote the business.

In addition, Bylaw 12.5.2.1 states,

- After becoming a student-athlete, an individual shall not be
eligible for participation in intercollegiate athletics if the
individual:

(a) Accepts any remuneration for or permits the use of his or her
name or picture to advertise, recommend or promote directly the sale
or use of a commercial product or service of any kind; or

(b) Receives remuneration for endorsing a commercial product or
service through the individual's use of such product or service. <span class="postbody">
