Maybe I have some Deion fatigue, but that seems like a bad hire (if true).

I can see why he would be successful as a mentor figure in college. Not sure how that translates to the NFL.

Kirby Smart is the highest paid coach in college this year at $13+ million/year. That's good enough for 7th place on the list of NFL coaches this year. Raiders require no recruiting, no 17 and 18 year olds to change diapers for, salary caps in place, bargaining plans in place, a GM to share the blame when the boat tips over, did I mention no recruiting? That's how this move for Prime Time "translates to the NFL" in my opinion. Plus, he'll probably insist on his kid and Hunter being with him again at some point and he will ask for kickbacks for that from them. Rest assured its all about him though

Aren't NFL coaches supposed to be competent game managers? Prime can be a good college figure head and tool for NIL/recruiting but a competent game manager he is not.

Before this season, I thought I heard/read that Sanders was nearly crippled and wheelchair bound.
I guess between this season and this rumor, his leg or foot is OK?

That dude's shoulders carry a ton of drama.. If his foot doesn't fail him, his back is gonna give out!

I was really hoping for Colorado to schedule Auburn, so we could see a head coaching matchup of two guys in hospital beds

I think he’s had some toes removed.

Yeah. This just doesn’t make sense. The one thing Deion is best at is recruiting. But it’s the Raiders so wouldn’t surprise me at all.

Has Shedeur ever played for anyone other than Deion? Maybe Deion realizes that fact is going to affect his draft stock and is pushing for an NFL job to keep that streak alive. The ultimate helicopter parent******

It’s going to be a rude awakening for him the first time he steps into an NFL lockerroom.

First time stepping into an NFL locker room? 14 seasons in the NFL, 2 Super Bowl rings, '94 Player of the Year in NFL, 6x All Pro, 8x Pro Bowl. I don't think an NFL locker room will be a "rude awakening" for him. I've never been a fan of his at all but I think he knows what he's getting in to. Whether he will prosper or shrivel and die who knows but that's his choice

If Jerry Jones and Taylor Swift has taught us anything, it's the fact that the NFL has become more of a media game than the games on the field.

Maybe the Raiders will be the first to go all out and make it all show. I want to see Deion coaching while wearing an Elvis jumpsuit with wings and the glasses.

Prime going to Vegas. Raiders future is mortgaged.
Would say this about him...love or hate him...underestimate him at your own peril. A couple of years ago many said the same thing about him going to CU. He had their first winning season in 8 years and 1 of 6 since 2000. Not to mention attendance, merchandise sales, NIL increase, and overall national exposure.
Raiders merchandise sales alone may be worth it to the franchise.....look at the Cowboys for that model.

It helps when you get a cupcake schedule. Colorado's Big 12 schedule was a combined 30-51 in league play.

Go back & reread my post...only this time, imagine there are some training-wheel asterisks after the text. And, then, please direct your diatribe to people that don't think Deion will be able to adjust his approach between college & pro. I'm not saying I think he'll be successful as an NFL coach, but, if he isn't, I don't think it will be because he doesn't know how to talk to professional players.

I’m not disputing that point; however, I believe people's emotions often influence their perception, leading to an exaggerated view of him being a less capable coach than he actually is.

He gets under my skin sometimes, but I believe he has a good heart and I'll be pulling for the Raiders next year if I can bear to watch the NFL. I've about decided I'm a college basketball fan.
