Like Tom on the Wrestling Board? This board needs a new JonZ. Someone’s gotta step up.
All that's missing from them at matches are clown costumes. They are embarrassing. The Brand brothers are morons! Glad we beat their asses...
It’s really disappointing how classless Ioweak fans are. Trailer trashAll that's missing from them at matches are clown costumes. They are embarrassing.
Re-watched the tape and upon further review I can come to but one conclusion. Iowa fans don't know how to lose. This explains the pushing, the shoving and trash talk after the whistle in the early matches. With the exception of heavyweight, we won the matches we were supposed to win. It was a defensive battle; only three bonus points scored by both teams. IMO Max Dean was robbed of an escape and a takedown right before the buzzer but that's how the chips fall at Iowa City. Kerkvliet got caught not once but twice in a Cassiopia bear hug which led to five points (counting riding time). I'm confident it won't happen again.
I believe Iowa fans resent we're doing to them what they did to Oklahoma State decades ago. And there's every indication our dominance won't end anytime soon because last year-- if memory serves-- half their starting lineup was either from PA or wrestled collegiately in PA at one time. Big Ten wresting is the storm, and we are the eye of that storm so long as Cael is around. For real.
Don't know how anyone but a die hard Iowa fan could approve of those bozo's or even root for Iowa wrestling with them in charge of it.The Brand brothers are morons! Glad we beat their asses...
Sorry to spoil the party, guys.
I don’t recall which match it was, but the camera view shows him in the background. The match goes south for the Hawkeye wrestler and he is seen putting hands to face and and very sad look. The one Brand brother...guy wearing the black shirt last nite. What a lunatic! Is he actually a paid coach?
In what way is it a down year for PSU? We have four defending national champions on the roster and AA transfers Dean and Hildebrandt, as well as Berge returning.Poor Iowa, this is kind of a down year for PSU.
Yeah the Brand brothers and Ferentz. What a combination of classlessnessDon't know how anyone but a die hard Iowa fan could approve of those bozo's or even root for Iowa wrestling with them in charge of it.
Every time I watch Iowa wrestling, and that is only the PSU matches, I'm so glad that Cael is the PSU coach. Cael's demeanor is first class, rarely argues a call (I've never even really seen him do it), uses the brick if he has an issue, which is on top of being the best technical coach in college wrestling, which is 180 degrees from the Iowa coaches who look like they should be in charge of their children's kindergarten wrestling. About the most classless representatives of a B10 or any university. But from what I've seen recently of Iowa fans with their booing of injured players and the like, the Iowa coaches are a great match for their fans. I try and only root for PSU and the other teams I have attachment to (U of Dayton BB where my son attended, .....) and avoid rooting against other teams, but Iowa in any sport is the exception.
It comes right from the top - the Brand Brothers are classless punks and it spreads through the organization and the fan base.Re-watched the tape and upon further review I can come to but one conclusion. Wrestling has become my favorite collegiate sport. The way Cael runs the program reminds me of Paterno in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Spectacularly successful teams and quality players.I expect the team to be even better in the next year or two, tons of young talent on the team.
If they were coaches at Penn state, they had better win every match as well as Big Ten & NCAA title or that classless wack job behavior wouldn’t cut it.Don't know how anyone but a die hard Iowa fan could approve of those bozo's or even root for Iowa wrestling with them in charge of it.

That really isn't true. Iowa is the only team that averages over 10k add Penn State as the only one over 5k. If you averaged the Top 10 you would likely be around 3,500. It certainly has a rabid following but it is definitely a niche sport like most non-football and non-basketball.Wrestling is a major sport at the NCAA level. The best of the teams are drawing 10-15,000 fans on weekends. Penn State is looking to nab its 9th national title in 12 years of Cael's coaching run this year. That's big, really big.

Could you clarify this: I am reading this as saying only Penn State and Iowa average more than 5000 fans for wrestling and only Iowa averages over 10,000. Correct? That really isn't true. Verified it for myself:Could you clarify this: I am reading this as saying only Penn State and Iowa average more than 5000 fans for wrestling and only Iowa averages over 10,000. Correct?
They're more like court Jesters, dress both of them up in one of those ourfits and they could star in Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. All that's missing from them at matches are clown costumes. They are embarrassing.
