Take the points......
Penn State will win, but not by that many.Take the points......
Rutgers was gifted 6 turnovers by Indiana (4 fumbles, 2 Interceptions). RU demonstrated against Michigan that they have a decent run defense...thankfully for PSU, we don't have a run game. RU's secondary is suspect.Take the points......
I agree, due to a lack of speed and height they try to protect against the long ball too much by playing a soft zone. This forces the outside LB’s to drop back into passing lanes to protect against the short pass. Rutgers plays very hard, they’re also recruiting better athletes under Schiano, but they do not have the depth or size to deal with the Nittany Lions. Are they narrowing the gap, absolutely. But not this year, which is why the wise guys have the Nittany Lions a 16.5 point favorite.Rutgers was gifted 6 turnovers by Indiana (4 fumbles, 2 Interceptions). Heard this before the Illinois game how they are all suspect. Bottom line, PSU has lost 4 of 5 and that can be weighing on the players. The play calling and decisions are horrible. Schiano will have his guys read and playing hard.Rutgers was gifted 6 turnovers by Indiana (4 fumbles, 2 Interceptions). that is my feeling, and the points seem a bit rich given the situation with the teams. RU is trending up and seeking a bowl, while we are trending down in results. We clearly have a better team and talent, but emotion is a funny thing. If our guys want this and fight, we win. I think a very important element is the condition of Sean Clifford. He took a beating yesterday, and not sure his condition. If he is at least to the point he started the UMich game, then that will be great. If he is where he was going into Illinois, that is gong to be a problem.Heard this before the Illinois game how they are all suspect. I am not saying we lose, but it will be a battle.
You’re a 100% correct. Much depends on Clifford. I see three scenarios. A healthy Clifford means, PSU covers the spread easily. A dinged up Clifford PSU wins in a very close game. If Clifford doesn’t play then ………………..that is my feeling, and the points seem a bit rich given the situation with the teams. I hope you didn't bet too much.Easy money on rutgers
If Clifford had played that game, and most fully expected him to, we would not have covered that spread. But as you are reviewing old posts of mine on your Sunday, you'll hopefully stumble on my unabashed support of Clifford. I've been very critical of him being thrust into the starting role clearly hurt.Very smart.
Ah man, I have to admit I tried to but they closed betting on penn state prior to the game and it saved my ***. I had a good chunk of change sitting in there from the Illinois game. Vegas is so smart, I dont know why I bother sometimes.I hope you didn't bet too much.
Love it. We have another thread saying that Clifford is worth 14 pts to the line and now this thread where we don't cover with Clifford. If Clifford had played that game, and most fully expected him to, we would not have covered that spread.
