PSU or OK State: Which is worse?

Penn State’s 2020 season ended at the pylon in game 1 (for all intents and purposes) and OK State’s 2021 season ended at the pylon in the Big 12 Championship. Obviously two very different circumstances, but which fan base has it worse: OSU for missing out on the BCS playoffs by inches or PSU for losing a game they should have won and having to suffer through the past two seasons..by inches?

A huge difference to me is that it was clear from the live action and replays that the OK State player did not touch the pylon with the football. He wasn't in and no one has disputed that. On the other hand the Indiana QB may or may not been out of bounds before touching the pylon. If you viewed the play with Penn State blue glasses, which I did, he clearly was out As such, I'd say our loss was worse as it was a referee's bad call that lost the game, not the play on the field.

2020 doesn't bother me at all. It was such a ****** up season that it represents very little to me, kind of like the sanction years. This year otoh was quite concerning. To under utilize that much talent is not easy.

Really, if two years later a football team is underperforming and demoralized because of an unfair loss (and yes I think we were robbed) then there’s something seriously wrong with the players, coaches and fan base.

Clearly there‘s something wrong with the fan base. PSU leaderers told us so in 2011.

I didn't see the ending of the OSU game.

BUt, was it worse than the screw job we got at Iowa where the extended right arm of the runner/receiver touched the pylon and the ball was clearly tucked under his left arm2-3 feet before the goal line? That call was worse then Penix.

No. The OSU runner clearly wasn’t in. But it did get me thinking about what’s worse: just missing and it ending your season, or the other team ruled as making it and it ruining the rest of your season.

One can't look at the '20 Indiana game beyond that one result. It was the difference in 5-4 and 4-5, perhaps we go bowling at 5-4? Yes, our call was disputable, but the stakes were low. Without Parsons and Brown, we were not a contender.

Ok St lost a title game. Definitely hurts worse. Runner lunged too soon. I think he breaks the plain or hits the pylon if he barrels in.

Actually, we could have gone bowling last year at 4-5 ...... everyone was eligible. After the last game against Illinois the team voted against it - everyone was exhausted following all of the Covid protocols, social distancing, etc.... Just wanted to get home with their families.

I remember that, but I can't help but wonder if having a winning record changes the mind set at all.

He was clearly out with any glasses. Perhaps you need a thick pair.
