Students were supposed to be getting notified this week if they got tickets thru the lottery or not. Has anyone heard anything yet? I know some students who have not heard anything yet but some have been saying their credit cards have been charged but haven't received any formal notification yet. Then again it may be hearsay....

Having your CC charged (at this point) does NOT mean you got tickets. (And not having it charged - yet - does not mean you didn't)

PSU ICA is still in the process of charging ALL the cards - and at some future point (presumably, after all the cards have been processed/charged) will determine who got them (and who didn't) and will refund back to those who did not.
How they will determine who got them, I have no idea (but maybe someone else knows)

I wish I could give you a tighter time frame for when things will happen, but I do not know.

Update w better clarity on time frame:
"I called and the rep I spoke to clearly said the following: Pending charges mean nothing. No charges yet mean nothing. They are just verifying cards in batches, as they can't run 40,000 cards at one time. They will run ALL cards in next day or so. Emails will go out in next 2 days - if you got it, the charge will stick. If not, they will refund card"

ie: A "pending" charge is not = a "charge"

This is literally from the GoPSUSports site. I don't know why someone from the Board of Trustees would get and spread false information?

"Ticket requests will open in class order and begin on Monday, June 10 and run through Friday, June 21. Graduate students open the ticket request process on June 10, and it will continue through the end of the freshmen ticket requests on June 21. Students will be notified the week of June 24 via email if their request was selected or not in the lottery process.

To submit a request, students will put a credit card on file and will only be charged if their request is selected during the lottery process. If their request is not selected, their card will not be charged. Students can make their season ticket request at any time during their class request window and the timing of when the request is made will not impact their chances of obtaining a student season ticket. The lottery selection process is completely randomized.

The cost of the seven-game home season ticket package is $246."

Dude, you quoted Debra from Facebook and posted that as fact? GTHOOH with that laziness. You're an elected Trustee.

My son just got the rejection e-mail. He didn’t get them last year either. Got into the website last year and got kicked off as he was about to purchase. The system sucks both ways to be quite honest. I’m sure there are a ton of kids that got them and will just sell them though without ever intending to go to the games. Good times.

I agree - I think all students who pay tuition at UP should get tickets if they want them - we all did when I went there. I don't think they should include the branch campus students in this. They can only sell them to other students now so it might cut down on the resale market since all kids who want them would already have them.

That's simply not realistic based on how many students are enrolled at University Park.

I think if you buy them only you can use them with your student ID. No resale. It would stop those who are only buying them to make money and would free up a ton of tix for those that really want to be there.

How about the kids that get shutout the previous year get first crack at them the current year? Then go to lottery.

Kids will sell the entire season package together this afternoon with no intent of making any games. I know because my daughter got turned down as a freshman and paid $650 of her own graduation money the same day they sold out. The system sucked then and it sucks now.

He (and I) refuse to give those kids those prices. He’ll buy a single game ticket here and there or sit with us.

This is literally the most inaccurate post I’ve seen on this board…and that is saying A LOT!!!! What a travesty that this is the leadership of our University.

I just heard scUM has a point system for student tickets. If you attend the game with your ticket you get a point, if you get there before kickoff you get a point, if you get there 30 mins early you get a point, if you attend all home games you get more points. Then the following year, priority goes to students with points for actually using the ticket they bought.

This is a great idea! Too much dilution in the current (and recent past) system used by PSU. My daughter got shut out her sophomore and junior years but was notified today that she got them. And she’s attended every game since her freshman year.

It just pisses me off that kids price gouge each other for them. If you miss out of getting picked, get ready to open your wallet at the discretion of a 18-21 yo kid.

I know other school award you points for attending other sporting events at the college that count towards higher standing to get football tickets.

I’m all for that. My son went to several hockey games last year and loved it. He said it was a blast. He also went to wrestling matches and volleyball games and enjoyed them all. It’s all part of the college experience.
