I’ll go 12-0 because I’m going to go to my brother’s house to watch the game and that will be the beer of me vs. him.

Would love to see O'Connell pressured early and often. Just have this funny feeling that the game will go to the team that has the ball last. If Penn State allows O'Connell to be Drew Brees then, we are in for some problems. On the flip side PU better have an answer for Allen and Singleton. I see something like 33-27 Good Guys!

Interesting, maybe, "trend".
Penn State may need to score 30+ to win this game. That would be my guess, and would be congruent with the current Vegas lines.
In Penn State's last 20 Big Ten games, they have scored 30+ a total of three times (that is close to unbelievable in this day and age) - and the three times they did that: Once last year, when PSU returned a pick six late in the game (against Maryland) to get to 31 points. And two games late in the 2020 season against two teams that had absolutely packed it in by then (Michigan State and Illinois - the last two games of the COVID year).

I got PU winning by 10
PU - 31
PSU -21
Opening weeks for College Football are just like "a box of chocolates" - you never know what you're gonna' get".
Two reasonably well-informed folks could pick either of these teams to win by two scores, and provide reasonable justification. You just can never be sure of what teams are going to show up on that first trip out onto the field.

Okay, thought about it. I think Penn State wins - 31-30. Secondary will be in for a long day though if we can't pressure Purdue's returning QB; he was the #11 passer in the country last year and didn't start until game five....

If our LBers are AT ALL effective we should win this easily (34-17)... if not... ruh roh. Still have us 31-27.... but too close for comfort.

Why would we score less than 34 in my second hypothetical? Because PU will have the ball and momentum more, meaning a penn state TD turns into a FG (pressure).

I could easily see this going 37-31 with somnebody whose initials begin...P.... winning.
