We saw the #2 punter today who really did not look good. we have seen him on kickoffs and also not good. I thought that the guy we recruited from Ga (Alex Bracheta) was one of the best punters coming out of HS in the 2022 class. If the #99 is better than him we better get a punter for next year.

On KO's Jake Pinegar has been doing the job. Love the in EZ every KO approach. The #2 KO guy has no leg.

smh

The #2 KO guy is Sander Sahaydak. He has a stronger leg than does Pinegar. His accuracy and his consistency is what's holding him back from having a bigger role.

Pinegar, Sahaydak, and Mitchell Groh are the only Ks on the roster. I'm pretty sure Pinegar is gone after this season. Ryan Barker is (I think) a PWO that's joining for next year. (He's currently a HS senior.) So unless something happens via the portal, next season the K role will be filled by Sahaydak, Groh, or Barker.

Gabriel Nwosu punting today, when PSU had a very comfortable lead, does not necessarily equate to "#99 is better than him (Alex Bacchetta)." Bacchetta is a true freshman. He's redshirting, so unless he enters the portal, he'll be back next season. Getting Nwosu some game action was probably more important to keeping him around (and in competition for the P spot) than it would have been to Bacchetta. I'm not even sure if Bacchetta was on the traveling roster.

Pinegar was great on the KO's - all into the EZ and nothing OOB penalties. Whoever KO after him had no leg. Ball went to like the 10 yd line. I did not see the player but it was not the big guy (99)

Pinegar had 7 KOs. 6 of the 7 were touchbacks. His last KO (in the 4th qtr after Allar threw a TD to Tre Wallace) went to the Indiana 4.

Sander Sahaydak had 1 KO. He did so after PSU's final score (the pass by Allar to Theo Johnson). It went to the Indiana 12.

If you want to draw sweeping conclusions about PSU's kickers based on 1 KO on a blustery day, knock yourself out. As I stated in an earlier reply, Sander Sahaydak has a stronger leg than does Pinegar.
