the narrative was that UMich OL just beat on Purdue and the total domination wore them down. I was buying this but looked at the game stats.

Purdue outgained UM, had 10 more first downs, TOP advantage of 5 minutes and punted twice vs 4 punts for UM. then looking at the rushing yards for UM half their runs were on two plays. UM also got their final TD after the failed onside kick.

None of this looked like the UM OL just wore down Purdue. I think that after the failed onside kick, the Purdue defense gave up a little.

in truth, it was more UM big plays, turnovers and fewer penalties than Purdue.

Our neighbor is a Purdue grad, and he suggested that the UM QB had all day to throw and scrambled open for some big plays. However, it was not UM just running it down their throats. A loss for Purdue, but not sure they were just dominated.

Michigan is reiventing itself midseason and when you try to do that it can look clunky. 4 weeks ago we had 2 GREAT running backs controlling games, with one being one of the top 5 overall players in the country and the other a dynamic running receiving. Well, guy number one is gone. The other is really good but has a cast on his hand and hasn't been able to be used as a receiver. Despite that, we won by 3 tds at Ohio State and then came back and won by 3 tds last night with our C game. The good news is our young qb is now becoming a force and we have 4 weeks to get guys healthy and come up with a new post Blake Corum strategy.

I watched the first 3 quarters. Purdue's QB was on the money, just like he was when PSU played them. What did them in, imho, was quite simply the turnovers.

Field goals in the red zone. Red zone is really difficult for them because they can't run the ball or they couldn't against us
