I find this passage of the Board's discussion of presidential compensation to be interesting:
"Implement an evergreen five year contract. With the goal of ensuring mutual long term commitment, we recommend moving to an evergreen construct, meaning each year, with mutual agreement, President Bendapudi will always have a five year contract.
"Mutual?" What aspects of her contract lock Dr. Bendapudi into Penn State? Anyone who believes that she doesn't view PSU as a steppingstone to a higher paid, more prestigious gig isn't paying attention.
That was my takeaway when I first read about it on Feb. 16. That's the seventh initiative. Get out of Dodge unscathed and head for greener pastures.I find this passage of the Board's discussion of presidential compensation to be interesting:

Not that difficult to accomplish when one has a docile, compliant Board. That was my takeaway when I first read about it on Feb. 16. That's the seventh initiative. Get out of Dodge unscathed and head for greener pastures.
I ehco that...I didn't vote for Barry his first go-around and made my concerns of some of his past posts known. However, he'll have my support when he's up for reelection, and I appreciate both his engagement with everyone (something that I see more from him than the rest of the trustees combined), and his ability to raise his concerns and speak up without overstepping and/or taking things too far.I appreciate your accessibility, Barry. Even if we don't always agree on things you always reply.
Who has the higher buyout? Neeli or CJF?I find this passage of the Board's discussion of presidential compensation to be interesting:

My base theory was that it was Ira Lubert calling the shots behind the scenes, but I guess that was incorrect...Any existing BOT member other than Barry needs to be gone. I find it incredulous that EVERY BOT vote is unanimous! With over 30 (I believe it is 37?) members not one other than Barry expresses a differing opinion, offers an alternative, or discusses "Devil's Advocate" thoughts. Our BOT operates as lemmings blindly following the leader..... i would love to find out who actually orchestrates the BOT.
Not necessarily. Couple factors at play. First, many board members are per-disposed to go along with the administration. Second, it's usually a small group that exercises disproportionate influence. One person will typically exercise leadership of that group. That person exits, is replaced, and another member of the group assumes the leadership role. Result is what you see.My base theory was that it was Ira Lubert calling the shots behind the scenes, but I guess that was incorrect...

Yeah, I'm almost wrote, "An attempt at a satirical article on the compensation."Russell Frank is a decent writer except when he tries to be funny. Not that he doesn't have good points, but he should leave the satire to others.
