you can see the importance of the QB run threat. Ravens and Bills are great examples. You cannot have a guy who just stays stationary in today's game,

look at how GB is playing Niners with no threat of QB run.
That QB in KC can also do some damage taking off down field.

Joe Burrow is a stationary QB and he was the first pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Recent retired stationary QBs who played in the modern era of the NFL such as Brady, Peyton Manning, and Eli Manning have won a collective 11 Super Bowls.

Allen and Mahomes are extremely talented throwers as well running threats. Jackson’s passing game has improved. OBVIOUSLY. o_O a QB at this level cannot rely solely on getting the runs.

I did not mean to suggest that a run only QB is a solution and in fact those guys usually have very short careers. QB has to have passing arm.

I am just saying the way the game is being played today the QB needs to pose run threat to keep DEF honest. Joe Burrow can pose run threat, and I would not call him stationary, but injuries have tempered this. Burrow ran at LSU and his rookie year. Also, you can see what happens with the OL has injuries and the QB has no run threat.

So if Mahomes or Allen had baked-beans and sauerkraut last nite we are in for a treat!

What's funny is that when Allar does run, he actually gets some decent yardage.

Stafford and Goff aren't run threats but are good enough to win big games. QBs just need to be capable and willing to run when the opportunity presents itself. Most QBs run well enough to keep defenses honest. Guys like Allen and Lamar are unicorns. Can't find very many guys with those attributes and skills. It will be interesting to see how long their careers last. They both take a beating. Allens big body bodes well for the beating but over time he'll pay a price. Lamar has already missed substantial amounts of time because of injury. Although he seems to give himself up a lot more now than he has in the past. Funny how injuries change perspective. It's the ultimate team game, everybody needs to do their job to win. IMHO QBs need to see the field and throw accurately more than anything.

If you're not a run threat, at least have pocket presence, accuracy and the knack to hit the open man. Allar has a big arm.......and...has a big arm.
