Just did some looking around on the status of our commits and noticed that Tyler Russell blew up the Elite 11 camp at bama, according to the analysts in attendance. In fact, one individual said he has more talent and athletic ability than anyone on our roster. It seems more and more people are finally giving him respect, yet what has happened to Garrett? Seems as though he's fallen off the map since committing to corndog university. On a side note, does anyone know when Pat Patterson might commit?

I think Chris Garrett is a case of a good prospect playing at a big name high school and someone (Gene) hyping him up in anticipation that he would lilkely go to MSU. Also, I bet Gene knew his family and all that crap and was trying to "help him out".

I call this the John Parker Wilson effect. Wilson played at Hoover High School and I believe his mom was a cheerleader there or something like that.

Garrett has done one thing... and that is market his name. Looking at his size and skill, he could very well turn into a very good QB in the future because he has all the tools. He has gone to all of the camps... plays at a big name school... has a go to wide receiver... etc.. However, there are other quarterbacks out there that can offer all the same things or perhaps more than he does... Russell has not done that. I believe, before the elite 11 camp, he had been to one camp. I haven't seen Russell play, but I'm sure he will be just as good with a little coaching.

Gene hyped Chaz Ramsey, Lee Chambers, and Chris Garrett into commits for other schools.
