Is anything going to change? Or w/ WA, UCLA, and Tosu on the home schedule - are we looking at an ILL Whiteout?

The University seems set on its "Whiteouts are night games" stance. Will anything change w/ FOX? Will NBC get one of the big games at night?

No one likes noon football unless it's not a big game. Sorry.

Maybe FOX will think about dipping its toe in the big game prime time slot, with the new teams added to the Big 10.

The CBS presence will increase next year (I believe they only aired 8 games this year), and NBC can't be happy with some of the dreck they were forced to air in 2023. Of course, they didn't have the PAC additions which would have increased their options this year.

All that said, with more inventory, Fox can't dominate all the good games, so more of those will trickle down to CBS (330) slot and NBC in prime time. Plus CBS went prime time with our whiteout vs. NBC having OSU @ ND (which didn't count as a B1G game since ND was host). Whether or not they can do that again, who knows?

I agree with you about noon games. Just all around PITAs from arriving, parking, gate entry, etc. I would suspect UCLA or OSU or UDubs is a night whiteout. Or perhaps we can have two, or have one that starts in the 330/4 window.

Fox , CBS, and NBC will rotate the first selection of games beginning in 2024. PSU's best games won't necessarily be stuck into the Big Noon Fox game moving forward. Couldn't find the specifics of how far in advance they have to decide on the weekends scheduling slate.

To me it seems a perfect white out candidate would be UCLA on Oct. 5. As nittanymoops noted above, more inventory means more notable games will fall to NBC and CBS. For now Notre Dame doesn't have a game scheduled for that day so NBC is wide open. UCLA could be either an afternoon white out (ending in twilight) or a night game. CBS or NBC, time will tell. UCLA is also a good candidate for homecoming since it's the only home game in October. Homecoming + white out + new conference opponent = great atmosphere for the fans. Homecoming could possibly be Sept. 28 vs. Illinois but in the past homecoming week has concluded in October.

The perfect candidate is Tosu. I'm tired of watching PSU being robbed of the best home field advantage in sports against its toughest competitors.
