..what was the strategy behind the pitching carousel in the late innings?

Every subsequent inning, Cohen put in a worse pitcher.

To somebody who views baseball from a common sense perspective instead of a "numbers" & "match-up" perspective, this was some of the dumbest **** I've ever seen.

Did Cohen really think Norris was up to the task of shutting down Florida?

Norris is the guy you call in the game when you have a 9 run lead against Jackson State.

It's bittersweet to see Cohen coach his *** off to the final game of the super regional, then pull this ridiculous crap with everything on the line.

we just dont have the arms to shut those guys down. The only thing i questioned was pulling jones when we did. after that we were just trying to get to the 9th.

but you're wrong on Norris. He was just as good as the next guy we had. And he usually throws strikes. <div>
</div><div>I mean, you tell me, who would YOUR DUMB *** had thrown? Girodo? **** we were playing the best team in the country. Any of their hitters can hit any of our pitchers.</div>

..Jones was getting the job done.

Then the next guy comes in who is worse than Jones, but the defense bails him out.

Then Norris comes in, & Norris is the guy you call on to eat up innings against Memphis.

I would have left Jones in another inning but we had nothing left in the tank. We need another starter and a couple of good arms in the bullpen to make it further.

..at least until Jones started getting rocked.

& I asked for people who know something about baseball to respond in this thread; not some idiotic troll with "goat" in his username.

on Friday instead of using Stratton.

Norris and Stark have been good all year...but they are freshmen. They should have taken care of it for 3 innings combined...they couldn't, we lose. It's that simple.

The season was prettyamazing. Our three weekend starters at the beginning of the year all turned out to be horrible...yet we replaced them and put together a good team by the end of the year.

Cohen noticed he was getting worn out or didn't want to risk him getting hurt. I wondered the same thing, though.

will not question any of the coaching calls. If Cohen had that kind of talent I think we would be pretty damn formidable. I have watched alot of college baseball over the years and I believe this Fla team is one of the most talented these eyes have ever seen. It is scary to contemplate what they would have done with the old bats.

noise in Omaha this go around. We forget we didn't get to see two of their best players in this series. Even though I
Don't care for bucktooth I would like to see them do well.

He had pitched 3 innings. And in his last inning (5th) Smith laced a line drive that Bradford had to chase down. Fontana hit it hard in four-hole and Collins made a great play. Then Zunino and Tucker mashed back to back balls. We just so happened to make a great play and throw Zunino out at the plate. So that being said. I said when he went to the dugout I hope we don't see him in the 6th. They were on him. His slider had lost bite and you've got Stark in the pen who has a nasty slider. I thought we made the right moves. Just can't afford the walks in the 7th.
