The wife and I are going to Las Vegas this weekend and I am wondering which sports book is the best to watch our game at? Neither of us have been to Vegas before and I figured I would ask the board for some suggestions. Thanks for the help.

I love the book at Bally's.There are plenty of nice ones up and down the Strip though. Caesar's or course is a classic. There's also an ESPNZone somewhere on the south end of the strip.

I was there during the tournament though, and they had bleachers set up for extra seating so I'm not sure exactly what it's like most of the time. There were a lot of leather chairs that looked pretty comfortable, but the supply didn't exactly match demand that time of year.

You'll be fine in any one of many sports books on the strip. The only one I remember not liking was the Flamingo's.

The Wynn is the one place I have not been. I have heard it is awesome though. Unfortunately I am not a Wynn/Bellaggio high roller so yes, I spend time at Bally's, Caesar's, Flamingo, MGM, Mandalay, the Rio, and all the other trashy Vegas dumps. I will say I am too good to hang out at Excalibur or the Trop. They just aren't up to par.

We just kinda ended up where we ended up. Neither me or the other two guys I was with had ever been out there before. I don't see what the problem with the Excalibur sports book was though.

was the best one I saw out there. I was there for the Preakness, so it was pretty crowded, but the atmosphere was really cool. Plus, the Mesa Grill is right there if you want to spend your winnings. The sportsbook at Bally's was cool, too, but the casino itself has a bit of a 70's vibe going on (i.e. Allen Hall). Plus, the rewards card at either is good for all the Harrah's locations (Grand, Horseshoe, etc.). I think the ESPN Zone is in New York, New York.

I'll second Ceaser's....i was there during march madness one year and watched a few games there. The Wynn was not open when i went though.

waitresses dressed like hookers, comfortable seats, tons of leg room, a billion tvs...the place caters real well to tourists. but i had even more fun off the strip at the place o.j. robbed (palace station). its not near as nice, has about half the tvs, no electronic lines (dry erase markers and boards), waitresses come around about once an hour and the place smells like an ashtray but apparently that is one of the places the locals go every saturday. i sat my *** in the sportsbook from 11am to 12pm on one saturday watching college football with a couple of breaks to the buffet. i met so many of these old-timers that have been in vegas for years and listening to their remarkably vast knowledge of sports was worth it. the horseracing crowd may be the most interesting of the bunch. that is probably my fondest memory of vegas.
