Quick and dirty color versions

Different doesn't equal better. We need to just go with the baseball logo and maybe mix a bulldog in there somehow. All the new logos SUCK.

bingo.......it has alot of winning tradition to bring along with it. and it's already recognizable around the country. i dont know why it's not considered? why couldnt it be a canidate for the helmet logo?MaleBovineK9 said:

I like the logo you have. And I think y'all's white helmets, and white pants, look the best of any past looks. The all-white away uniforms, including white helmets, are sharp and classic. I always thought the maroon pants looked ugly. Especially with the home jerseys.
What about that M logo from sometime, maybe late 60s, that had something like a jet whizzing around the M? I kind of thought that was cool.

it goes back to what someone said a couple of days ago- you have the M-State logo incorporated into the Barnes-Nobles and stuff like that on campus.
I agree with you that the baseball MS would be better than the M-State logo.
That said, I don't see why we can't go back to what we had before- the interlocking MSU for football, M-State for basketball, and the MS for baseball. And if I had to pick one of the three, I would go with the baseball teams MS for all sports. I don't understand why we have to be M-State, especially when it seems that so many people don't like it.
I think our uniforms should look like this:
Football- 1980. That would actually be pretty similar to what we have now except with a maroon helmet and the interlocking MSU. I would also just ditch the maroon trousers all together. One thing I would do is bring back the white flying-M helmet for homecoming. I think that would be a neat tradition to start, and I think it would be appropriate because homecoming is supposedly for the alumni, and the flying-M is more of an academic type logo.
Basketball- The throwback uniforms from a few years ago. All they had were STATE and the players number under that across the front. White for home and maroon for the road. I think the throwbacks were from like 1960 or so.
Baseball- For home, the Detroit Tigers style uniforms with the MS on the chest, the New York Yankees style pinstripe uniforms with the MS on the chest, and the maroon top that says STATE across the front. On the road keep the grays that say Mississippi State across the front, and then use the maroon top that says STATE across the front. </p>
I agree with you that the baseball MS would be better than the M-State logo.

I agree completely with Todd and really like having the "flying M" for homecoming only.

from different teams throughout the years, I think we should get away from the big M all together. There were like 15 schools whose helmet had some variation of the big M. We need something that would be unique and ours alone. I don't know of any other schools that have one like the baseball logo. It's classic looking and from what I have gathered it is universally liked. It would look great on the side of the helmets, and it would look like a helmet that we may have had 50 years ago so it wouldn't look all modern and arena football leagueish (sp?) (like my avatar).
Edited to add: The helmet looks good in bulldoghair's avatar. Don't put any stripes on it at all, just solid Maroon with the baseball logo.

I don't like the current baseball uniforms.... go back to what we looked traditional many years ago.
I like current basketball uniforms....

I wonder why there is no effort to incorporate the Mississippi State design/wordmark that is on the front of the basketball jerseys. With a word as long as "Mississippi" to incorporate, I think that's one of the better efforts.
But I have to say, with some tweaking, I really like some of the new logo ideas - especially the ones incorporating the bulldog. They have a good 'retro' feel that I think would hold up over time.

Yeah the Mississippi State University Baseball logo definitely rips off of Division III, MC's football logo. I couldn't agree more. I'm sure people across the country would get us and MC confused and we could count on a law suit from Mississippi College to boot. Definitely not a good idea...
