Quirk with Bowls and Conference Realignment

One of the kind of weird things about this season (and I think maybe next season as well) is that teams that left the Pac-12 to go to other conferences are still bound by the Pac-12 bowl tie-ins. For the most part, you wouldn't notice this and, in a lot of cases, the bowls make more sense geographically. The one exception is the Alamo Bowl. This was supposed to be a Pac-12 vs Big 12 match-up, but it actually ended up being Colorado vs BYU, Big 12 vs Big 12.

This is the only bowl game where that happens, but it's kind of a neat matchup because they didn't meet in the regular season and this would have been the Big 12 Championship game about a month ago until Kansas wrecked both of their seasons.
