He was definitely one of a kind. A great player with sometimes a polarizing personality. they don't make them like this anymore. Crazy as hell.

Friend of mine sent this to me about an hour ago. What a great story. You could tell it meant a lot to him that they wanted to go to the show with him. It’s a FB link, so my apologies for that.

He single handily stopped U. of Memphis in the NC game....I think back in the 70's. Had a great touch around the basket. He just simply shot over his defender.

I think he went 18/19 that game. Incredible performance in any game, but more so in a national championship game.

Hopefully he is now in a place where he really can smell colors and feel sound.


I actively avoided watching games that had him as commentator, but I recognize he was loved by many.
