That sucks. He was a great villain. Saw a documentary on him a year or so ago. Impressive guy. Born in Iran, Olympic wrestler, was the Shah's bodyguard. Fled Iran and became an American citizen, coached the US Olympic team, and actually loved America. It was sad to see how bad his health had deteriorated.

Didn't they pair him with a huge Russian wrestler to play on the Cold War fury? That was a great time when wrestling was a silly, extravagant Passion Play each week on television to try and sell their PPV?

Supposedly an actual badass and former bodyguard for the Shah's Family. He was one of the few wrestlers Hogan was actually afraid of.

Had these two guys when I was a kid - I can remember playing with them like it was yesterday.

Isn’t he the one that used to bring out the huge bowling pin looking thing and twirl them over his shoulders some way?
