I really liked that show & his character especially. I've read his depiction is not 100% accurate, but preeeeety accurate. He didn't come off like a super-great guy to be around in the HBO docuseries about the Lakers... but he was one of the greatest players of his (or any) generation for sure. RIP.
PS I think it was called Showtime, but whatever it was - very entertaining.
i loved that series... i was born a little too late to really get into it back in the day so it was cool to watch and learn things i never would have known... Jerry West was by far my most favorite character... oh yeah, HBO,MAX whatever you want to call it are a$$holes for canceling it before the last season...He didn't come off like a super-great guy to be around in the HBO docuseries about the Lakers... but he was one of the greatest players of his (or any) generation for sure. He actually sat at my table at The Flying Saucer one night. Nice guy. Liked beer.Hung out with him for a while once. He got on the elevator, I said “hello, Mr west”. He said, “Hello”. Haven’t hung out since.
