Sounds like it was part of some house cleaning for the Raiders.

I found this tidbit interesting:
With Abram's release, only 11 of the 23 players drafted in three years under Mayock, including two of six first-rounders, are still with the team.

I'm not sure how that compares to other teams, but that sounds low.

Anyway, I don't think he'll be out of a job long.

They look pretty foolish declining Jacobs’ 5th year option. He’s been pretty damn good this year.

He’s been injured a lot and hasn’t really lived up to his first round draft status. But someone else will likely give him a shot.

He has to improve on his cover skills. Otherwise he will be signed as a special teamer and backup the rest of his career. Unfortunately it seems the NFL is moving away from hard hitting safeties and run stopping LBs.
